Island Holdings has appointed Keith Amemiya, former executive administrator and secretary of the University of Hawaii’s Board of Regents and executive director of the Hawaii High School Athletic Association, to senior vice president.

Island Holdings is the parent company of Island Insurance, Atlas Insurance, IC International and Tradewind Capital Group. According to a press release, he will be responsible for the company’s risk management practices in addition to handling legal and regulatory compliance.

Hawaii Business magazine named Amemiya to its first 20 for the Next 20: People to Watch list in 2010.
