PLAYHawaii, the first group-buying website to launch in the state in October 2009, has been acquired by CrowdSavings.com, a leader in the national daily-deal industry.
“We are excited for this next chapter in PLAYHawaii’s growth,” said PLAYHawaii co-founder Jon Sugihara. “Our customers and merchants will benefit from access to additional resources and Crowdsavings’ national user base.”
PLAYHawaii has earned a reputation for offering tremendous deals for reputable products and services, but it has also been committed to supporting local charities through its PLAYback deals. CrowdSavings.com plans to maintain the same hyper-local focus and continue to support Hawaii businesses.
PLAYHawaii is CrowdSavings’ eight acquisition this year. Based in Tampa, Florida, the company is active in 14 markets, including Las Vegas, San Francisco, Atlanta, and Denver, among others.
